Köttermann Steel & Epoxy coating
All Köttermann Laboratory furniture is made of steel, there are good reason for this. Steel is very easy to keep clean-sterile, does not allow bacteria absorption, requires less maintenance, has the long life expectancy combined with lower maintenance costs, does not absorb dangerous substances and therefore can be easily recycled and it does not burn.

To protect the steel from being affected by chemicals used in the laboratory, all surfaces are treated as follows:

1. 16-gauge sheet steel is Electro-statically galvanized.
2. The steel is degreased.
3. The steel is cleaned with phosphates ( Duridine 7760 )
4. The steel is Electro-statically coated with Epoxy Resin Powder ( light Grey similar to RAL 7035 ) to a thickness of 75 micron.
5. The steel is heated to 170°C for 13 minutes.
6. 1 hour cooling time is allowed before pre assembly.
7. All furniture is pre assembled before delivery.
Laboratory Furniture made of Steel is extremely hard wearing.

Köttermann use galvanised steel to prevent corrosion, and the epoxy resin coating has been designed for Laboratory use.
